Sometimes you have to hold the faith when others are questioning you, with a lack of trust in your dream becoming manifest. Maybe you have been working on a dream/goal/vision for 4 years or more and are hearing judgmental comments from others about it. Are you starting to let their mindset creep in, let impatience take hold, or find yourself struggling with frustration, wondering how you can muster up enough inner fire to keep going in 2019 when your feeling drained already?
My husband is a music man, he finds the song tracks to our life and he just shared this song with me, 'Run in the Rain' by Tom Grennan. He thought it really resonated with the intensity and challenges of holding the faith in the face of organic growth in a culture dedicated to unsustainable production expectations that fuel the burnout and stress epidemic in our world.
Do these lyrics sound familiar?
I find myself there sometimes, struggling with unsustainable growth expectations. Growing up on a ranch in nature's cycles, I never seemed out of wack. But I felt very pressured and frustrated living in a production hacking culture influenced by Silicon Valley. A culture that prizes inorganic timing, hacking and modifying everything to be faster and pushing growth in unsustainable rhythms that lead to burn out and disappointment when we can't 'force' something to flourish.
You know something is off when young men and women, not even 30 years old, are having health and personal growth challenges that normally happen at mid-life (after working the grind for 20+ years).
It prompts me to ask, what's your growth pattern? Let's look to some Wisdom thru the Wild & Beyond™ to see the growth pattern of the Chinese Bamboo.
While most trees grow steadily over a period of years, the Chinese bamboo tree doesn’t break through the ground for the first four years. It must be watered and nurtured with light everyday over those years and to some it must seem futile. Our vision may be like this... it may start to feel unfruitful and we may wonder if we did the right thing. Then, in the fifth year, an amazing thing happens – the tree begins to grow at an astonishing rate. In fact, in a period of just five weeks, a Chinese bamboo tree can grow to a height of 90 feet.
Well, your growth cycle may be similar. You can work for weeks, months and even years on your dream with no visible signs of progress and then, all of the sudden, things take off. Your business becomes profitable, doors open for better job, connections happen, relationships shift and things become more vibrant and passionate than you ever thought they could be.
Yet, all of this requires a few things – faith, trust, and a community that values your growth cycle and wants to be on the journey with you! A culture that values what you know is right for you and supports you to keep watering and fertilizing the ground, until the vision manifests/breaks through.
I truly believe that when we find ourselves in this place of burnout that we are being called to re-align with divine organic growth and timing. That we are the ones called to be Sacred Activists, Natural Medicine Healers & Guides, Conscious Rebels & Culture Creators, Sustainable Heart Centered Leaders and Global Citizens who claim our Sovereign Power to create a new reality!
These breakdowns ask us to re-align with this sacred, beautiful earth's Natural Rhythms, and learn to value the feminine aspects of the life cycle, not just the masculine in constant progressive action.
Our health, career, or relationship circumstances may be requiring a dramatic shift in 2019 as we can no longer bare the imbalance. In this first quarter we are asked to work differently with earth (the body/planet, the cycles and patterns that sustain us, responsible use of resources, and reconfigure boundaries and structures that support us) and fire (action/rest, life force, right use of power, and personal and cultural transformation).
We are being invited to ask how we can take consistent actions to nurture what is growing or happening in a balanced way?
It truly requires the feminine (restoration) and masculine (progressive action) to be in harmony with a sense of overall inner unity. To be in relationship with the spirit, life force energy flowing through all that is, so you can clearly recognize the signs and guidance you need to move in a new direction.
How can we shift our expectations to be in harmony with a more natural organic growth process and inspire others to do the same?
I'm going to suggest that you commit to your renewal, discover what sustainable living looks like for you, reconnect to the divine wisdom in creation and make the cultural difference your called as a leader with Greater Ease in 2019! Why do I speak of leadership? Because leadership is required to be powerful creators of our own lives and to help show others the way back to a more harmonious way of living.
